Blue Lights College traveled to New York City over the weekend for two non-conference games against unfamiliar opponents in Touro College and Five Towns College.
The Thoroughbreds (4-0) were able to weather the storm against the Tornadoes from Touro, 87-67, on Saturday evening. Sophomore guard Sam Benton Jr - one of four Thoroughbreds scoring in double figures, led BLC with 25 points in the win.
The Herd completed their road trip with a matinee matchup at Five Towns College, defeating the Sound 96-94 in overtime. After 40 minutes of regulation could not determine a winner, the Thoroughbreds racked up 14 points in the extra period to remain undefeated. Freshman Kalil Baker scored 32 points for BLC, including five in overtime. Benton (22 points) also added five in the extra stanza.
The Thoroughbreds are the only undefeated men's basketball team in the New South Athletic Conference.
BLC returns to action on Tuesday, November 14 in Wilmington , NC at Cape Fear Community College before concluding their four-game road trip in Columbia, SC against Allen University.
