Neither rain nor snow...nor gloom of night...nor sleep deprivation could keep the Blue Lights men's basketball team from their appointed rounds on Thursday night as they defeated Appalachian Bible College 120-63 to advance to the championship game of the National Invitational Tournament in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

The Thoroughbreds overcame a 13-hour overnight bus ride, a blizzard, and frigid single-digit Midwest air to play a complete game, shooting 53% from the floor and a blistering 14-32 for 44% from long range. They also held the Warriors to 31% shooting overall on the night.

"We came out and knew what we had to do and they did it," said BLC coach Mario Pharr. "It was a complete effort throughout the game."

Jawan Browder led the way with 24 points.

The Herd will face Trinity College of Florida in Saturday's title tilt. Tip is set for 3:00 pm Eastern/2:00 pm Central time. The game will be livestreamed at dbc.edu.
