NSAC GRANTS BASKETBALL PLAYERS EXTRA YEAR OF ELIGIBILITY

NSAC Grants Basketball Players Extra Year of Eligibility

OFFERS SOME PROTECTION AGAINST COVID DISRUPTIONS

In light of the uncertainty surrounding the 2020-21 basketball season, the New South Athletic Conference (NSAC) will grant an additional year of eligibility to all men's basketball players. This will ensure the continuation of local decision-making in the best interest of each institution and its student-athletes.

"The NCAA announced a similar rule on October 14," said conference director and BLC AD Mike Davis. "As most of our member teams are not part of a national governing body, I believe our conference needed to make this decision independently."

Under the rule, any player on a member team's roster and participates in game play during the 2020-21 season will be eligible to return for the 2021-22 season with the same remaining eligibility that each player has now.

The Thoroughbreds' first game is set for Tuesday, January 12, 2021 hosting Mid-Atlantic Christian. BLC will open NSAC play January 26 at home against Thomas Nelson.
