Jeremiah Baker chalked up a season-high 24 points Tuesday night as Blue Lights College overpowered visiting University Prep 89-80 in Apex.
The Apex native turned up his game in the second half scoring 17 of his points after intermission, often needling through the defense for a layup, effectively putting the game out of reach.
After opening with a 15-7 run, UPrep closed the margin to three at 20-17 with 11:42 remaining in the half. But a 14-7 outburst by BLC (5-5) extended the lead back out to ten and the game was never really in doubt after that.
Kenny Anderson found his shooting touch to add 19 points, Chris Koger added 18 and several blocks, and Eric Williams contributed 13.
Teriq Rouse led University with 18.
BLC's next game is Saturday at 5:00 pm against Bryant & Stratton in Norfolk, Virginia.
